Hanging the Show at the Douro-Dummer Library Art Gallery

Today we were at the Douro-Dummer Library Art Gallery hanging our art show.

Prior to going to the Library we had discussed where we would hang our paintings and how much space each of us needed.

With me having mainly smaller pieces we decided that I would take most of the space at the top of the far bookcase with a couple of paintings from Diane.

This would leave most of the one long wall for Diane and I would take a 4ft. (1.2m) of the 26ft. (7.9m) wall.

The five low sections on top of the entry bookcases were divided equally between the four of us were we place a number of miniature paintings.

Cindy and Norma shared the second long wall as most of their work was in oils and acrylics. With Norma not having a lot of completed paintings she had her work hanging opposite to my work with Cindy filling the rest of the space.

This gave the show a very balanced look. When you came into the Gallery area the oils and acrylics on the one long wall and the watercolours on the opposite side made sure that neither of them overpowered the other.

In the front section of the Library Norma and I each had one piece exhibited, Diane had two and Cindy had four.

Hopefully you will be able to come out to the opening on 20 February 2015 from 7-8 pm. or view the show which runs until 27 March 2015.
