Third Annual Art @ the Locks Art Show

Over the weekend we exhibited our art at the 3rd Annual Art @ the Locks Show held at the Lockside Trading Company.

The first day it was the start of a very hot and humid weekend with the temperature climbing to 85F (29C) and the humidly making it feel like 100F (37.8C). We had the added bonus of severe thunderstorm warnings in place.

Fortunately, we did not get the storms they were calling for until very late in the evening and even then there was only a little thunder and not a lot of rain.

We had a fair number of people come out to visit the show today, with many who stopped in before they continued through Lock 27 which allows access from Katchewanooka Lake to Clear Lake on the Trent-Severn Waterway.

There was a lot of interest in a number of the paintings and Diane sold small items.

On the second day of the show it was even hotter and more humid than the day before with the temperature going up to 86F (30C) and the humidity making it feel like 106F (41.1C) and once again there were severe thunderstorm storm warnings in effect along with the possibility of a tornado.

Needless to say, there wasn't as much boat traffic or as many people out to visit the show as the day before.

Those who did come to see the show were very interested in some of the paintings and took flyers about some of the other shows we would be exhibiting at later in the year and a number of them planned on returning to the next Art @ the Locks Show being held on 15-16 August 2015. Once again Diane sold small items.

When we were about to take down the display the thunder clouds started rolling in and thunder began to rumble. Fortunately, the storm held off until everything was packed away and we made it home.

The four of us will return again in August and hopefully we will have cooler weather than we had this weekend.
